Speedwrite Subscription Terms & FAQ

Important Subscription Information

Why isn't Speedwrite free?

Good question. Speedwrite uses cutting-edge artificial intelligence, and is expensive for us to run. Each time you make a prediction, our computer systems have to perform a number of complex and computationally intensive tasks. We need to pay for many high-powered computers, processing 24/7, to keep Speedwrite running.

How does it work?

Each time you use the "predict" button, you use one prediction. When you sign up for a Speedwrite subscription, you automatically get new predictions points added to your account, each month.

A few seconds after your first payment, your account will be instantly credited with your first month's predictions. Your subscription will automatically renew until you cancel. You authorize us to automatically charge your payment method on renewal dates, until you cancel. All subscription payments are nonrefundable.

Your prediction points will reset each month, to match the number of predictions allowed by your plan. If you cancel your subscription, or a subscription payment fails, then, at the end of the applicable billing period, your number of available predictions will revert to zero. You may make a new a subscription at any time.

Is payment secure and anonymous?

Speedwrite is a privacy-first company. All credit card acceptance for Speedwrite is handled by a third party, one of the world's biggest and most established credit card processor. This processor never reveals your complete credit card number to us. We only can access the last four digits of your card number and expiration date, which we will only use in the event that you lose access to your account and ask us to reset access. Your credit card details, and associated details like cardholder name and address, are never stored on Speedwrite's servers.

What if I don't have a credit card?

We recommend you purchase a limited-use debit or credit card for use with Speedwrite.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Once you have subscribed, you will find a "manage subscription" button at the bottom of the subscriptions page . You may use this button at any time to cancel your subscription. If you cancel, your previous payment(s) will not be refunded, but you will not be charged again unless you sign up for a new subscription. You may continue to use Speedwrite after cancellation, but your prediction points will revert to zero the end of the then-current billing period.

Please note, if you don't see a "manage subscription" link at the bottom of the Subscriptions page, this means you have logged into Speedwrite with an account that has not subscribed to Speedwrite. See "I can't log in to my Speedwrite account", below.

Account upgrades and downgrades

To upgrade or downgrade your account, use the "manage subscription" button on at the bottom of the Subscriptions page. Then, cancel your current subscription. At this point, you can wait until your current billing term (30 days, six months, or one year) expires, and then sign up for a different plan. Alternatively, if you want to sign up for a new plan immmediately, you can make a new Speedwrite account, with a different email address. Note that in either case we aren't able to refund payments or apply previous payments to new subscription plans.

Annual and semi-annual plans

Annual and semi-annual plans are billed immediately, for the entire billed price. Annual plans are billed on the date of subscription, and then again 12 months later. Semi-annual plans are billed on the date of subscription, and then again 6 months later. For example, if you sign up for a $99.99 annual plan, you'll be billed $99.99 on the date of signup, but not again until 12 months have elapsed.

Chargeback Fraud

Like other services such as Netflix, Grammarly, and others, we are required by our payment provider to proactively report, investigate, and prosecute fraudulent credit card chargebacks -- please be aware that chargeback fraud is a serious crime.

Information For Current Subscribers

I can't log in to my Speedwrite account

If you have a current subscription, but find you are unable to access your account, first please look in your email inbox for a "welcome" email from Speedwrite. Note the email address that this welcome email was sent to -- you must use this same address when logging into Speedwrite. If you initially logged in using the "Sign in with Google" or "Log in with Facebook" buttons, then you'll need to use one of these buttons again, when logged into the appropriate Facebook or Google account, in order to access your Speedwrite account.

If you've tried all of these strategies, and still cannot access your Speedwrite account, you may contact us at info@speedwrite.com and we'll find the account for you. In order for us to locate your account and provide you with the correct login email, you will need to send us the following information, in your email: 1) the last four digits of the credit card 2) the expiration date of your credit card 3) the date of your last Speedwrite charge 4) the amount of your last Speedwrite charge. Speedwrite is a privacy-first company: Please do not send passwords, names, addresses, or other identifying details in your email.

I paid for a subscription, but I have zero predictions.

You've logged into Speedwrite with the wrong account. Fix this by scrolling to the bottom of this page, and clicking the the "sign out" link. Next, follow the "I can't log in to my Speedwrite account" directions, above.

Where is my subscription confirmation email? Where are my invoices?

Speedwrite does not automatically send invoices or other transactional emails which might reveal the existence of your subscribed account, except where required by law.

We have this policy because:

1. We want to ensure your usage of Speedwrite is confidential. Users often have poor security practices with email, and might automatically download and display incoming emails on multiple devices, lockscreens, etc. While we do send "welcome" and other promotional emails, in accordance with our terms of service, please note that these emails are general in nature and aren't linked to a paid subscription.

2. Despite our best attempts to prevent the practice, we have found that many users attempt to make several Speedwrite accounts, with several different email addresses, to try to get more free predictions. Because of this, many of our users don't regularly log in to the email account with which they have subscribed to Speedwrite -- indeed, a persistent issue is that a some users have made so many duplicate accounts, each with different email addresses, that they subsequently fail to remember which of these email addresses they used to sign up for a subscription. We then have to do an account recovery process to help these users gain access to their subscribed account (see "I can't log in to my Speedwrite account," above). This has taught us that even if we were to send transactional emails, a significant portion of our users would never see these emails, and instead they might very well be received by an unknown third party, creating serious privacy problems.

That said, if you have a current Speedwrite subscription, then you can easily download your invoices at any time, by following these simple steps:

  1. Go to the subscriptions page.
  2. Look for the "Manage subscription" button on the page. If you don't see it, that means you are logged into the wrong account. In this case, use the "sign out" link at the bottom of the page, and then log in with the account associated with the subscription.
  3. Click the "Manage subscription" button.
  4. Look for the "Invoice history" area.
  5. Click the link next to any invoice.
  6. Click the "Download invoice" button for the selected invoice.

How do I change my email address?

For security and privacy reasons, when you make a paid subscription, it is locked to the email address you used to make the subscription. We can't change the email address associated with any Speedwrite account. If you need to change your email address, please cancel your existing subscription, and make a new subscription with the new email address. We also are unable to convert Speedwrite accounts which are associated with a Google or Facebook account to an email-only account, also for security and privacy reasons.

Payment failures

India

In September of 2021, India instituted new, highly restrictive laws, which limit Indian citizen's ability to use the global credit card network. You can read about these new laws here and here.

It is still possible to subscribe to Speedwrite from India, however, you may have to try several credit cards in order to find a credit card which the Indian government will allow you to use.

The Philippines

Speedwrite subscriptions are available to residents of the Philippines, however, we have found that many charge attempts from this country are automatically declined by Philippines banks and credit card issuers. To resolve this, please call your bank or credit card issuer, ask that they allow payments to Speedwrite, and then attempt your subscription again.

Russia & Belarus

As Russian and Belrusian banks are now blocked by the major western payment networks, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, attempts to make subscriptions with credit cards linked to these nations are likely to fail.
